They chose to make it look like that intentionally and it's not just magically going to have a "smooth" version of it. The reason KR: DC isn't structured as a more straight forward DLC download to KR is because we have rebuilt the game from the ground up in a different game engine, which makes it impossible for the two games to interface in any meaningful way. I’m not a fan of pixelated games and this director’s cut seems to have even no option for upscaled smoothed out graphics like for example Full Throttle Remastered where it is possible to switch between classic and remastered modes.
